Year-Round Registration - It's always a great time to get your Scouting #AdventureOn !
We have a page dedicated to some general information about the pack: "I'm New"
You can also learn a great deal about participating in our pack from this Welcome Packet for Parents.
Yes! Youth of all genders are welcome to join the program and start their adventures in scouting! If you want more information, let us know!
Of course! We have an online store to make it easier for families to pay dues, pay for trips, and make donations!
We have fundraisers throughout the year to give scouts a chance to fund some to all of their Scouting-related expenses (both in and outside of the Pack) through our Scout Account program. Ask your Den leader or Scoutmaster for more details.
If finances are preventing your scout from participating in scouting as much as you and they would like, please let your Den Leader or our Cub Master know. There are grants and scholarships available to qualifying scouts. We will do our best to find a way to help your scout continue their adventures!
Here is a list of scouting expenses:
National Fee (due every January). Check our Application and Fees page for full details.
See our uniform page.
In lieu of dues, Pack 271 prefers each scout to partricpate in fundraisers, such as selling popcorn. If you want to opt-out of fundraisers, you can pay dues via our online store.
These vary based on the age of your scout and which events are attended during the year. If you need a better estimate, let us know!
Our pack participates in multiple camping trips each year. While these trips are not mandatory, it is a great way to get to know the rest of your pack family.
We typically spend 2 days (Friday night - Sunday Morning) in fellowship out in nature. However, families have the option to join us for only the daytime activities and skip the sleeping outdoors part if they choose.
If you've never been camping before, we know this can seem daunting. Our pack has developed a list of suggested camping gear: Download PDF. Please let your Den leader know if you have any reservations about spending time in the woods or need help with equipment. If you do not have everything on this list, don't let that stop you from coming out with us. Let a leader know and we'll do our best to make sure this doesn't prevent your family from participating!
Meetings are held 1-2 times a month (including campouts) on the weekends. Your den leader sets the time and date for each meeting. Be sure to check Scoutbook.com regularly (or even sync your calendar with the pack and den calendars) so you know when the next meeting is and what will be covered.
While we encourage scouts to attend meetings in person (because it's more fun that way), the program can also be completed at home at your own pace. However, the in-person meetings provide scouts a schedule to achieve rank and cross over to the next rank on time.
Please review your scout's den information in Scoutbook to confirm who your Den Leader is and how to contact them.
All our leaders go through the "Youth Protection Begins with YOU" training to spot problems before they get out of hand. Scouting is safer than ever, to learn more watch this video.
We strive to be as transparent as possible about the day-to-day operations of the Pack. You review our current reports here.
You will want to make sure you check Scoutbook.com regularly (or even sync your calendar with the pack and den calendars.)
Scoutbook.com is our central hub for all events and advancement tracking for the Pack.
You can order new shirts* all year round with our new online merch store: https://pack271.threadless.com
